Choosing your medical interventions at end-of-life
Most of us love the idea of, after a long fulfilling life, at a very ripe old age, lying down in bed for the night and waking up dead.
Sigh. From our own life experiences, we know it doesn't always play out that way. In fact, there can be a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about what Doctors are suggesting, and what each of those actions (interventions) really mean, AND the consequences of that selection. In the heat of a moment, having to make these decisions are overwhelming and quite frankly, scary.
